The first step is to install NTR, do this by installing BootNTR Selector.

Download the boot.firm and overwrite the current boot.firm on the root of the SD card. You will need to use a fork of Luma that is compatible with NTR to be able to use NTR, and NTR plugins such as PCalc, on the latest firmware version. The latest official Luma version is not compatible with NTR. If you feel you no longer need assistance, that's fine too.How to Install PCalc Installing a tool on your 3DS to help RNG Pokemon Tools I'm not saying otherwise, but you were the one who made this post claiming to be having difficulties doing egg RNG, so I was trying to help. I've been RNG abusing since gen 4 i know what i'm doing Regardless, as long as you get your NPC count the correct way, you should have no problem RNGing.Īnyone is welcome to contribute to those guides, so if you see an area you'd like to clarify, please do. The NPC counts in the guides are generally for a very specific location - if you're in a different location, even slightly, they'll definitely vary. It's the game's mechanics anyways, so there's no changing it. There's no difference between doing that and waiting 100 extra frames to start your RNG. The 100 frame thing you brought up isn't anything to be concerned about - people can RNG just fine even if there are changes between the games. Ultra Sun and Moon have a few differences to their counterparts, but they're mostly the same game. The slight difference I was mentioning wasn't frame amount, but how the games work. That's the point - since a timeline depends on the NPC count, you want to check your NPCs right before creating your timeline, otherwise you may have incorrect NPCs, create an invalid timeline, and not RNG correctly.

monday I got some free time to look into it some more.īut that's exactly when i create my timeline I also noticed differences when using my ultra sun game, as that one doesn't advance frames by +100 frames when I log off the pc. Although I must admit I didn't test it properly when I replaced the plugin folder. It still works fine if I just reset the game before I pick up the egg I'm gonna rng, it's just sad I lost my streamlined way of doing rng abuse on my ultra moon game. I also check several times to see if the npc count is correct before I talk to the npc, if i have to wait for more than a few thousand frames I even check if the npc count hasn't changed by refreshing. I'm doing egg rng abuse without masuda method and shiny charm, and I only start making a timeline when I'm already talking to the npc that gives me the eggs. I'm working on a living shiny dex and made almost a hundred eggs in the few days before I started having troubles, with the bulk of them sharing an initial seed with other eggs I rng abused for the shiny dex. It's really weird cause yesterday morning everything was fine and I rng abused 7 eggs on the same initial seed, which is now impossible for me to do.ĮDIT: I tried a different version of NTR Boot Selector and still have the bugĮDIT 2: I tried replacing the pcalc usum plugin folder, but that didn't help either. I was thinking maybe NTR got corrupted and I considered reinstalling it, I don't think it's PCALC USUM itself. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem before or if someone can point me in the right direction to fix this problem. It all works fine until I go into the PC. Ofcourse my frames don't match anymore when I try to rng for a shiny egg after I went through the boxes.

Whenever I open/close the pc and drop/move an egg I can see the frame advancing, also when I browse through the box the frame advances by 1 each time there's a pokemon. I regularly use the PC in the daycare to drop off eggs. I'm doing egg rng abuse in Ultra Moon using PCALC - USUM 0.4.0. Yesterday I noticed NTR searching for updates when I booted it without pressing X and now I think there's something wrong with it. I'm RNG abusing on a hacked N3DS and ran into some trouble.
